Birds of Prey (2005)

Comics Journal (1983)

DC Comics Presents (1985)

Firestorm (1988)

Flash (1993)

Green Lantern (1996)

JSA (2006)

To be continued in part 2…

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#80 part 2:

Legion of Super-Heroes: Doesn’t matter which era they are from; a group shot of the Legionnaires always gets me. This one by Alan Davis. (1996)

Legionnaires (2000)

Marvel Comics Presents (1991)

New Titans (1991)

Starman: DC’s finest series from the 90s comes to a close. It’s been years since I’ve reread this run. Probably time to revisit it in the near future. (2001)

Supergirl: The Peter David run comes to a close. This version of Linda Danvers would go on to become the lead character in the Fallen Angel series (even though her true identity wasn’t ever mentioned in the actual series). Once that title moved to IDW, the Fallen Angel character ceased to exist in the DCU and a new Supergirl - this one once again the cousin of Superman - appeared in the Superman/Batman run. The Peter David Linda Danvers would be seen for the last time in the 2008 Reign in Hell mini-series. (2003)

Superman (1993)

X-Men (1998)

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#81 part 1:

Avengers West Coast (1992)

Birds of Prey (2005)

DC Comics Presents: Ambush Bug! (1985)

Firestorm (1989)

Flash: It may only be the cover, but Nightwing and Starfire drawn by Alan Davis? Yes, please. (1993)

Green Lantern: Following the events of the Final Night, the DCU holds a funeral for Hal Jordan. In attendance? John Constantine and Swamp Thing. Suddenly the ending to Brightest Day doesn’t seem so out of the blue. (1996)

JSA: Geoff Johns run on the title comes to an end. Eventually, this series will end and turn into Justice Society of America with Johns, Dale Eaglesham (who drew this issue) and Alex Ross as the main creative team. (2006)

To be continued in part 2…

PS/ If that GL cover looks familiar, here ya go:

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#81 part 2:

Legion of Super-Heroes (1996)

Legionnaires: The final issue of the secondary Legion title that began as a sister-title to the Five Years Later Legion run. In those earliest issues, the team was a different set of characters, believed to be the younger clones of the original. Once Zero Hour hit, and the rebooted “Archie Legion” was created doing away with the clones, this title continued as a secondary title spotlighting different members of the same team. With the finale of this series, writers DnA would continue writing their adventures in the merged title known just as Legion(2000)

Marvel Comics Presents (1991)

New Titans (1991)

Starman: James Robinson returns to help resurrect this series for the Blackest Night event. That means that with the next post, Starman joins this series! (2010)

Superman: Can’t say I hate that black and silver costume. (1993)

X-Men (1998)

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#82 part 1

Avengers West Coast: One of my favorite Marvel crossovers! Operation: Galactic Storm. Cosmic, a large ensemble, locations and situations that could only happen in Marvel, etc. Good stuff. (1992)

BIrds of Prey (2005)

Comics Journal (1983)

Daredevil: Jumped on to the series with the new team of Brubaker and Lark. A good opening story even if I stayed on for only one storyline. (2006)

Excalibur: Even prior to Age of Apocalypse, I was a sucker for these crossover X stories: X-Tinction Agenda, X-Cutioner’s Song, Fatal Attractions - and Phalanx Covenant that introduced Generation X! (1994)

Firestorm (1989)

Flash (1993)

To be continued in part 2…

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#82 part 2

Green Lantern (1997)

JSA: Paul Levitz is new writer as the series begins to wrap up during the events of Infinite Crisis. George Perez on art, although Rags Morales will eventually take over. These issues didn’t quite live up to the previous Johns-era. (2006)

Legion of Super-Heroes (1996)

Marvel Comics Presents (1991)

New Titans: You know, even as well-versed as I am in Titans lore, I’m not sure I ever really absorbed the behind the scenes on this issues various reveals. Eventually I’ll need to go through it all again. (1992)

Superman: Superman is back! Foil cover! (1993)

X-Men (1998)

Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.

#83

Birds of Prey (2005)

Daredevil (2006)

DC Comics Presents: BATO! Man I loved that group/series back in the day. (1985)

Firestorm (1989)

Flash (1983)

Green Lantern: First appearance of Fatality. (1997)

JSA (2006)

Marvel Comics Presents (1991)

New Titans (1992)

Superman: The Death of Superman event comes to a close. (1993)

Oops missed one file!

Catwoman: During the Blackest Night crossover, a handful of canceled titles were “brought back to life” for an issue - this being one of them. Issues from this volume of the title character will pop up in this series soon. (2010)
