Covers of comics that are (or have been) in my collection at one point or another.
#166
Conan (1985)
Marvel Tales: The cover is a flip of the original Amazing Spider-Man 28 cover. (1984)
Robin (2007)
Superman: Loeb and company appear to alter Superman’s origin bringing back many Silver Age concepts and/or designs. The Byrne era has definitely closed leading the way to a time when Superman’s origins incorporated just about every version. Golden & Silver Age, Byrne, Birthright, Smallville, the first Superman movie - eventually it will take the best of all them. (2001)
Wonder Woman (2001)
X-Men: Writer Peter Milligan joins regular artist Salvador Larroca on the title. After Grant Morrison’s New X-Men run, this title ran its course for me. I pick it up when it’s involved with crossovers but that’s it. (2005)

#178
Cerebus (1994)
Conan (1986)
Daredevil: Paper Chase. (1982)
Green Lantern: First appearance of the Predator in the Green Lantern universe. At the time, readers were steered to believing that the Predator’s secret identity was the enigmatic Mr. Smith that was haunting the pages of GL for awhile. That was just a red herring and both characters turned out to be more than any reader could’ve guessed at that point. Anyway, I enjoyed the Predator character and his look even though he wasn’t around for long. This issue also dropped the nugget that the GL known as Tomar-Re was responsible for the space sector that included Krypton at the time of its destruction. That’s from a 1972 story I have yet to read in Superman 257. (1984)
Green Lantern (2004)
Superman: Uncle Sam guest stars. I believe he uses the misfortunate identity of Patriot for a brief stint in this story a holdover from the Spectre series. Look it up. Bleh. (2002)
Wonder Woman: Anyone remember when the rumor ran about that Diana was going to lose her virginity during this run? Boy, how heads would spin these days amongst all those loud supposed comic readers who don’t actually read the comics they yell the loudest about. (2002)
