Comics from Wednesday Jun 6:
Image is a bit cropped on the left hand side. Boo! Anyway, let’s dig in:
DC Spits On Your Mom: The first of the Before Watchmen comics is released. And Alan Scott’s new identity is Out in Earth 2! Look at that - the world didn’t blow up. We can go back to reading comics again. Also, that Swamp Thing cover is an homage to the original issue ten cover from 1974 by Bernie Wrightson. Nicely done.
Hey! You! Read! This!: Five items worth looking into if they strike your fancy. Hit the links for previews: Back Alleys and Urban Landscapes by MIchael Cho for those interested in the art of the crowded city; Metro by Magdy El Shafee for those who want political intrigue mixed with the real world events in Egypy; Creator Owned Heroes antholazine for those who want a mix of stuff to sample; for a dip into the surreal and print art, check out Amber Albrecht’s Idyll GN; Year of the Beasts is a Young Adult book that alternates prose and comics with art by Nate Powell; and lastly, join in the fun that is Double Jumpers!
Is That What I Think It Is?: Yes. Yes it is. That’s Prophecy from Dynamite. And, yes. That is Spawn 220 on my list. Event books and anniversary issues. Sucker. I am a. Sue me.

I’ve given up on Animal Man & Swamp Thing; REALLY enjoyed Creator-Owned Heroes; kinda loving the rebirth of Valiant Comics (X-O and Harbinger, at least…I haven’t checked out Solar & was never into Magnus); still don’t get how Spawn lasted 20 years.
